You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. – - Jim Rohn
In an earlier post, I suggested that in my experience there are universal success factors that I see repeated in the most successful people. I then went on to provide the list of what I believed were the 10 most important. These success factors have come from one of the most influential books in my life, The Success Principles, by Jack Canfield. I will, from time to time, drill down a bit more into each one of these success factors to illustrate what I mean when I make these statements.
Here’s the first success factor:
Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life
You own your life. Where you are at today is usually the direct result of what you have done (or not done) with your past actions to get here. Own it and accept this fact and take 100% responsibility for this. If you are not happy with where you’re at, start to take the actions necessary to make the changes needed to get where you want to go. Action is the key word here. Don’t just talk about the fact that you’re not happy, develop a plan and then take action to change your world.
There are only three things you can control in your life; the thoughts you think, the images you visualize, and the actions you take. So, today make the commitment to make the necessary changes to get what you want out of life. Though, this is a very simple concept, it is not easy to implement. It takes commitment and dedication to do change your thoughts, but you have complete control over this.
To your success,
